654 Roseld Avenue, West Deal, NJ
Estate of Madame Lillian Nordica and George W. Young
Hollywood Golf Club

Originally built as a rustic bungalow as a wedding gift to Madam Lillian Nordica from her third husband, George W. Young. Madame Nordica, a world-famous operatic soprano, also famous as the first "Coca-Cola Girl".  She was on tour in the Far East, and died suddenly in Java, traveling from Australia.

The Deal Golf Club was originally a private golf course for George W. Young and his friends.  In 1898, it was incorporated as Deal Golf Club.  Interestingly, while the Club House, driveway and practice areas are in Deal, the vast majority of the club is in the Township of Ocean.

The property that was their summer house was sold to the members of the Hollywood Hotel Golf Club in 1915.

Originally designed in 1916 by Walter Travis, and redesigned by Rees Jones, Hollywood has been the site of many high profile golf outings.  Many men's and women's golf championships have been held at Hollywood over the years.
