H.F. Davis' General Store
Building Constructed Approximately 1904
Building Marked by Township of Ocean Historical Museum 2006
The Harry Davis Store is located on the southwest corner of Monmouth Road and West Park Avenue. Davis ran the business from 1904 until his death in 1946. His liberal credit policy and delivery service earned him many loyal customers. The business was started in 1860 by Thomas Cook, who had a falling out with George Brown and opened up a competing store across the street. Today, the building is occupied by Gianni's Pizza, and it has changed very little.
